What We Provide
The college has many facilities in order to make the learning process enjoyable and beneficial. The college has Wi-Fi throughout the building and computers are available in every room, allowing students access to the latest information and learning programmes.
The laboratory is fully equipped with all the facilities necessary for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. All three sciences are taught at GCSE,GCEASand GCE Advanced level. The teachers at the college bring a love of their subject and their dedication to getting the best out of our students.
The college reference library was established in 1997. The college also has the benefit of having the modernised Macclesfield public library around the corner from our premises, which provides the students with further reference material.
Teaching at the college is based upon the needs of the student. The college provides one to one tuition which focuses primarily on the needs of the individual. It also allows for the lessons to be flexible so that other commitments can be undertaken. Tuition in small classes allows for a strong focus on personal support and promotes a sociable environment; this builds confidence and leads to greater achievement.
The flexibility of our teaching programmes has meant that students have found that they do not have to compromise their education if they have other demands. Former students to the college have been able to pursue sporting careers whilst maintaining excellent examination results. Aspiring footballers, ice skaters, golfers and dressage competitors have graced the corridors of MTC.
Macclesfield Tutorial College is an examination centre for both GCSE and GCE examinations and all exam boards are available. The college provides excellent exam practice to ensure that each candidate will receive the highest possible grade.
External candidates are able to take their GCSE and GCE AS and GCE A2 examinations at the college.
