Twenty four “free schools” are to open in the next few weeks.
The government has proposed that they will recruit instructors from the Armed Forces.
A free school is a state funded school which is outside local council control. The Government is removing red tape which prevented these schools from being created which means charities, universities, businesses, educational groups, teachers and groups of parents can set one up.
