MATHEMATICS, STATISTICS and MECHANICS
This subject is split into two parts comprising the AS and A2. Both of these components are required in order to obtain a full General Certificate of Education in Mathematics. However it is possible to obtain a certificate for the first half of the course i.e. an AS level certificate in GCE Mathematics.
The specification offered is the OCR examination board. Mathematics is offered as either a one or two year course.

All units are externally assessed by a written examination of duration 1 hour 30 minutes. They are:

4722 C2 Core Mathematics 2 AS
4723 C3 Core Mathematics 3 A2
4732 S1 Probability and Statistics 1 AS
4724 C4 Core Mathematics 4 A2
4728 M1 Mechanics 1 AS
Advanced mathematics is a useful contributory qualification towards university entrance in a wide range of subjects.
